Brief of "Sorry I Ruined Your Orgy" Kindle Book :
Bizarro humorist Bradley Sands returns with one of the strangest, most hilarious collections of the year.

In Sorry I Ruined Your Orgy, the pope gets sued, a headless man falls in love with a bowl of rice, and architects dismantle the earth. A war breaks out over greeting cards. A suicidal amputee tries to kill himself. William S. Burroughs becomes an amateur archaeologist and Tao Lin drinks an ape-flavored smoothie.

Between a breakfast of clocks, a lunch date with Adolf Hitler, and breakdancing in outer space, anything is possible in the work of Bradley Sands. Just never wear a bear costume to an orgy.

4The best short-form bizarro fiction kindle book I've ever read

By Christopher Fraser

Sorry I Ruined Your Orgy is a brilliant kindle book, no question. It's now the latest in a collection of around 25 bizarro kindle books that I own, and if it isn't my favourite (that remains Satan Burger, and I'll be surprised if that ever shifts), then it's certainly the best kindle book of bizarro short stories I own.

Here's my one problem, and it lies in the testimonials at the start. Carlton Mellick, considered by most to be the High Priest of bizarro, the man whose writing kicked it all off, describes it as "like an Adult Swim show written by Russell Edson". And... it's not. Part of what sets bizarro fiction apart is that it's incomparable to anything, even a mash-up of seemingly disparate genres. For a start, the number of styles and themes covered in Sorry... are so diverse that to label it as anything other than unpredictable would be foolish. And in this kindle book, Sands employs a way of telling stories that isn't quite experimental, but at the same time feels completely new - he throws up a series of images that at once manage to be funny, strange and yet somehow familiar. It never feels, as a lot of fiction in the genre tends to, as if he's pushing the boundaries of taste, or reality, or anything else for its own sake. A lot of bizarro fiction deserves the unhealthy label of "transgressive fiction" - this feels like bizarro is at a pivotal moment, at the point of carving a place for itself within the literary canon.

Cult fiction can only stay so for so long, and then it either becomes stale or grows up. This kindle book might be a marker for the fact that, at last, it's achieving the latter - remaining distinct and fantastical, while showing an emotional and intellectual maturity that previous works failed to reach.

4Chock full of wtf.

By J. Wilson

Sands presents a diverse variety of strange and incredible happenings in such a straightforward manner that disbelief or belief becomes a non-issue. After a while you find yourself contentedly following wherever he leads. Kind of like he's trying to control your brain for everyone's amusement. His homage to Burroughs is worth the price of admission itself but is just the bonus cherry on top of a heap of good carp. Not to be missed.

4If Dali was a bearded author....

By Raye M. Roeske

I really enjoy Bradley Sands' work. He's definitely in my top 5 favorite Bizarro authors. He's like the bearded, author version of Dali. His writing is fabulously absurd and surreal. It's fantastic to picture the stories as one reads.

I'm quite partial to variety. There were bits flash fiction, short stories, and poetry. I'm not a fan of poetry, but I rather liked the pieces in here. This was a very smart collection of stories. It goes the humorous route, instead of shocking.

(Shoot! I forgot to mention that I got a big kick out of hamsters showing up in at least 2 of the stories. There's a huge shortage of hamsters in the genre.I'm a huge hamster fan.)
