Brief of "Destiny" Kindle Book :
Every tale must have a beginning, a birth, a point of departure. Some tales begin long, long ago, while others in a land far away. Some begin with both, and for some, that is where they end as well.

It is said that stories give life to people long dead and forgotten. That the mysterious path to immortality is a life worthy of remembrance. Tales can last thousands of years, or vanish with the coming spring. They can be heirlooms, passed from father to son with love and reverence, or trinkets tossed aside like unwanted toys. Some tales birth gods, and some conceal the truth. This tale does not lay claim to the former, but it certainly deals strongly in the latter. For truth is better digested when taken with honey…

Orphaned at birth with a mysterious key, Simon Kendrick was raised in the quiet village of Bywood unaware of his true story. But when a traveling knight presents him with the opportunity to search for answers outside his home, Simon jumps at the chance.

Now, Simon must undertake an unforgettable journey if he is to discover who he truly is.

4Destined for Great Things

By niclake

Dragons, nymphs, knights, and an epic quest; "Destiny" by Aaron Mahnke has it all. A gripping novel that you won't want to put down, and thankfully don't have to due to its shorter nature. The story ebbs and flows, following seemingly disjointed paths until they finally converge into one big "aha!" moment. Breaking free from some classic stereotypes in fantasy novels also brings "Destiny" into a whole new light; some readers may be put off by those, while others will appreciate the freshness of a new perspective on the fantasy genre.

My only complaint with its novel stems from one of the selling points; the length. I do appreciate a short read such as this, but with all the plot already included (not to mention what could've been added, or what was presumably trimmed off), it feels like a non-stop downhill roller coaster ride. Tiny elements fly by so fast that you sometimes don't even notice, and even the big, important scenes blow past that you almost feel cheated.

All in all, "Destiny" is a very well-written novel, and a great sign of things to come in the future from Mr. Mahnke.

5Great weekend read!

By stee

Destiny follows Simon, a young man who has everything he knows about himself re-defined through an adventure born out of tragedy.

The kindle book is an easy read, but don't think it is lacking in depth for that reason. Mahnke is great and creating characters that are rich and deep in an easy-to-read way that few can. Connecting to these characters is easy, as they are not unlike us, given the vast difference in their surrounding and ours. Simon may be traveling with a knight in a world of dragons and masked men, but his search for his identity and true place in life isn't all that different from the same path many of us travel.

If you like fantasy, and are looking for a relaxing way to spend a weekend, this is the kindle book.

5A Wonderful Adult Fairy Tale

By Michael D. Ramm

Destiny is the tale of Simon Kendrick of the town of Bywood. Simon has a hard life until he leaves his family on a journey that will change everything that he know about himself and the world he live in. The story is fast paced and wonderfully written. Mahnke's writing style is easy to read and understand. I am looking forward to having my 8YO son read Destiny to see what he thinks. Even in a shorter work as this, Mahnke's world building and character building are superb. I am very much looking forward to hopefully reading more about Simon Kendrick in the near future.
